You want to be very consistent in everything you do online. Here are 5 tecnquies I use to get my face and brand on the world-wide-web
5 Major Branding Techniques
- Gravatar
Go to Gravatar.com and create yourself a Avatar. Your avatar can be your company logo a product image or a picture of yourself. Here is a picture of my avatar. I picked this picture because it is very eye catching and show cases my personality. I’m one crazy ass fool so this picture is perfect. This service is absolutely free your Gravatar is an image that follows you from site to site appearing beside your name when you do things like comment or post on a blog. Avatars help identify your posts on blogs and web forums. So basically you are leaving your footprint behind everywhere you go online.Hint: If your avatar stands-out from the crowd more people will be interested and click through to your website…:)
- Facebook Fan Page
Make a Facebook fan page. Again you can showcase your brand, use all the same logos and pictures you used on your website. In my experience making a fan page on Facebook is a pain in the ass, but it is just one of those things that needs to be done. If you want to learn how to make a fan page or just want to buy a template check out these fools they have a lot of great information HyperArts
- Twitter Background
Brand your Twitter account with a custom background. I’m not a huge twitter fan because it is just one more thing to-do online but I need to start tapping into this traffic source. Like twitter or not this website is massive and there is a lot of opportunity so make sure you stand out from the crowd and make a pimp ass twitter background. Then go get as many followers that you can. If you are lazy like me and don’t have time to make a custom background design or don’t have the skillz, I would strongly suggest you buy one from Custom Twitter Backgrounds These guys have made backgrounds for some of the top celebrities on twitter and they are super good at what they do. I strongly recommend there services.
- Are you LinkedIn
Another great site to get your brand out there is LinkedIn Instead of trying to explain what LinkedIn is I encourage you to visit their site. It basically links professionals with other professionals. It is a great site that explains who you are and what you do. LinkedIn always gets ranked really high in Google so I highly recommend you get an account and start branding your business. The services is absolutely free
- YouTube Channel
Get a Youtube channel. Youtube is the second largest site for searches in the world. They get so much traffic it is ridiculous. So sign up for your own channel and start posting videos about yourself and your brand. If you miss this step you are really missing the boat. It is actually really fun to make videos. Who cares if you are camera shy once you do one or two videos you get over your fear. I use and iflip video camera. It only cost about 150 bucks for the HD version and it is as small as a digital camera and shoots great videos. Check it out below.
So those are the top five methods I use to start branding my website. These should keep you busy for a few days. Now, if you really want to get crazy go to Ping.FM and sign up for all the different social media sites. I’m not going to lie this is a pain in the ass, but once it is all set up it is on pure autopilot. You will be amazed on how much traffic you can get from using these methods. Just keep it simple and do one step at a time. All of this can be very overwhelming to a newbie.
